Alexandra Squire is an extremely talented Abstract Contemporary Artist. In today’s world, everybody goes the extra mile to make complicated artworks whereas Alexandra prefers simplistic and minimalistic art designs with which people, in general, can connect. She wishes to portray everybody’s stories through her paintings. She further said, “What my art means to me is likely very different from what it means to you, yet we can both see something compelling in it. I am not worried about keeping up with trends or rushing my process or how I evolve. I am focused on creating art that is substantial, open to interpretation, and rich with depth and texture.”
As it turns out, Alexandra had made the right decision and she got immense recognition for her work. Talking about her notable achievements, Alexandra said, “My work has been in several shows regionally and worldwide. I have never submitted my work to juried art shows but plan to pursue this route in the near future.”
Alexandra’s story might not be extremely unique or different but it is a reminder that when you believe in yourself, anything is possible. You just need to trust your gut and go for it. Alexandra had the potential to scale her journalism career. However, if she had not done that, she would not have been completely satisfied or fulfilled. She quoted Mary Oliver’s famous line: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” This bugged her a lot and she says that she would have certainly regretted it at a later stage of life if she had not decided to pursue her passion for art. She is confident there is no other career that could fulfil her the way art does. This does not imply that she does not have bad days in this profession. Art is a very tough subject. She found herself irritated on a lot of days where she wished to throw her artwork out and quitting art would have been a much easier decision but she knew that it was a major part of her life. She wishes to walk on this path itself irrespective of how difficult it might get.
