The journey of Dr Suzanne Soliman has been fruitful but it was not easy. She has worked day and night to reach where she is today. She has gained a lot of names, respect and love from everywhere. Even if she has achieved her goals, she didn’t stop learning, gaining experience and serving society.
Everyone changes in their journey, Suzanne said about her changes. She says “I am older and wiser. I think differently. I thought everything was already done and didn’t realize how much still needed to be done. Women in pharmacies are still standing while pregnant for 9 months in a small pharmacy area with swollen feet and legs. Making sure women who are nursing who are working as a pharmacist have a place to pump many of these things still aren’t done yet. I think now I know I have a lot of work to do where earlier I didn’t realize how much work was needed.”
Dr Suzanne Soliman is the Chief Academic Officer for the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs (ACMA). A woman, PharmD in a C-suite position, she gets to have an impact on thousands of learners or beginners in over 75+ countries who work in the life sciences and healthcare industries. She feels good knowing that she could help so many people from different corners of the world. She has currently collaborated with health organizations to improve their recruitment and engagement practices to include more women.
She says, “When I first had kids, I thought I could continue working at the same pace and do everything exactly the same. It was a reality check as I then needed my “tribe”, support, my husband and many others to get me through. You can’t have it all at the same time and you have to learn how to prioritize at different times.”
“Live life as if everything is rigged in your favour” – Rumi. The above line is Dr Suzanne Soliman’s favourite quote. She is the kind of person who believes in living their life to the fullest and she lives her life on her own terms. Till now she has achieved a lot of things in her life due to her determination, passion and consistency besides hard work.
